2021 -25: Targeted Provision

Our first priority is to give young people from deprived areas of Bristol identity, value and hope through futsal. We will do this by establishing:

  1. A recognised and effective futsal-focused Early Intervention programme operating from 10-15 Bristol primary schools, working with 100+ children on a 1-2-1 basis every week.

  2. Community futsal hubs in North Bristol, South Bristol and Central East Bristol with a workforce able to deliver weekly sessions from each site.

2025-28: Expand Community Provision

After this our focus will switch to bringing communities together through futsal, improving the confidence and outlook of their most vulnerable young people. We will do this through:

  • Extensive local futsal provision, including community leagues for young people.

  • Expanding our workforce, by identifying and training local people who can facilitate delivery of leagues; and equipping community coaches to mentor young people.

2028-31: Community Venues

Stage three of our strategy involves establishing safe, easily accessible and attractive facilities for local people to play futsal in the heart of their neighbourhood. We want to see:

  • Cohesive communities with an attractive local focal point where people can gather to play sport, catch up with friends and meet new people.

  • Accessible and affordable sport provision that ensures diverse use of the courts to bring together different ages, demographics and ethnicities within Bristol communities.
